I knew my sample meals would be alienating! Oh well. I live in Cambridge, Mass, which may as well be Mars, as far as most Americans are concerned. But honestly, my meals are not usually that weird (maybe I should do another week, to correct for sampling error). I don't think fried is at the top of most people's problems. I think the top problem is quantity (and sugar). I do, bizarre-o meal list notwithstanding, eat a lot of fried food, butter, and cream. I wish I could help you on the kids issue. Working on it :). Is the problem what to give the kids instead of cocoa puffs? Or what to eat yourself while you're watching the kids eat the cocoa puffs? The second is (I think) a more tractable problem. The first I haven't given much thought to yet (though I'm about to).
