Hello Deborahs;

Both of you asked:
>Does anyone have an opinion about pilates for ab work?

No lack of opinions here. Pilates seems to be a catch-all phrase
nowadays, but the original and most common concept is to work the
core, the posture, connect the left knee with the left shoulder, for
example. Of course then strength and coordination have to go through
the back and abs. Your abs will be under tension and that's good.

Short answer - Pilates is good for ab work.

Disclaimer: I haven't done anything specifically or officially called
Pilates. I've seen and read some of their stuff and find I do similar
exercises with the same philosohpy. Hey, you asked for an opinion.:-)
